30. 山河大 微塵細 皆識變 如幻戲
As great as mountains, rivers;
As minute as motes of dust,
All are but transformed from the consciousness;
Are like illusions or plays.
31. 人不知 執實我 與實法 道已左
Yet, people do not understand,
And attach to a ‘real self’
And ‘real dharmas’;
They are way off the Path.
32. 生煩惱 及所知 二障起 佛性迷
They give rise to afflictions and hindrance thereof,
And have the drawback from their own knowledge.
Once these two kinds of obstacles arise,
One’s Buddha nature becomes confused.
33. 真覺者 佛菩薩 說唯識 破我法
Those who truly awaken
Such as Buddhas or Bodhisattvas
Teach the truth of consciousness-only,
To help beings break their attachments to self and to dharmas.
