Our three-year online Buddhist studies program has now reached its completion. Over this time, we have embarked on a rich and profound journey of learning and practice together.
The curriculum was thoughtfully designed to progress step by step, integrating the study of scriptures with practical cultivation:
First Year (Beginner Level – Knocking on the Buddha’s Door): We laid the foundation with studies of The Three-Character Classic of Buddhism, the Āgama Sutras, and the Questions of King Milinda. In the second semester, we engaged in the practices of the Pure Land tradition and the Earth Store Bodhisattva teachings.
Second Year (Intermediate Level – Exploring the Mansion): Our studies deepened with The Seven Parables of the Lotus Sutra, the Sutra of Forty-Two Sections, the Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch, and the Sutra of the Ten Wholesome Ways of Action. The second semester focused on the study of Buddhist precepts, establishing a solid foundation for ethical practice.
Third Year (Advanced Level – Exploring the Riches of the Mansion, The Third Journey): We explored the profound teachings of the Avataṃsaka Sutra and the Śūraṅgama Sutra, and in the second semester, delved into meditative practice, uniting wisdom with concentration.
These three years have been a journey not only of accumulating knowledge but also of purifying the mind and awakening wisdom. May each participant carry forward these experiences, bringing the principles of Buddhism into daily life and transforming them into a source of benefit for oneself and others.
As we conclude, let us express our heartfelt gratitude for everyone’s dedication and mutual support. May the merits of this study serve as a stepping stone on the path to liberation, and may the light of the Dharma continue to illuminate our lives.
